Picking up Belle
Yesterday was a long one, but 13 hours, almost 900 miles, 2 1/2 tanks of gas and countless bathroom stops later...thanks Joel.... we arrived home safely with our brand new old 1968 Shasta Compact travel trailer. We thought long and hard what to name her finally deciding on Belle. It seemed only fitting to name here after our street since we were going to paint her the same colors as our house. Joel voted for Bosco......he lost.

I just bought a vintage shasta and am going through the tear out stage. There's water damage and dry rot everywhere and I'm trying to figure out how to replace the floor and bottom stud rails
ReplyDelete(1 x 2's) without taking the camper completely off. I wonder if I got myself into a real mess.
It looks like you've done some good work so far.
Love how detailed you made this, it's great to see all the pictures and description! We just bought a 1963 15' Shasta and are now realizing the work that is going to have to be done....did you finish yours? wondering if you have any other advice to give? Also, did the way you re-insulated make any more head room at all? (my husband is just about one inch too tall to stand up without touching the ceiling)...thanks!
